Thanks so much for considering us for your big day! We are a husband and wife team based in Maryland, happily married for 21 years. We met as teenagers while we worked at Weis Markets, and our first date was to see Titanic. We believe in true love, to never stop dating once married, and to get to the beach as much as you can! Over the years, we've learned just how important photos are. After the wedding, all that will remain is your love and vows, your memories, and your photographs. It is our job to capture images that you will cherish forever. A lot of planning and work goes into putting together a wedding. If there is any way we can help, just let us know!
Hans got started in 2003, as a paid second shooter photographing weddings. He photographed dozens of weddings as a second shooter, before taking on his own personal work. In 2010, we went into business together. Since weddings often don't go as planned, we feel experience is one of the biggest assets we bring to the wedding day. Having a combined experience of 33 years results in more memories captured, better planning, more consistent editing, and a smoother day.

Our main areas of focus are real moments, details, and relaxed portraits. Over the years photographing weddings, we've become drawn more and more to real moments. These candid images aren't planned, and capture the true love and joy that exists at each and every wedding. It's the way he looks at you while you walk down the aisle, the hug from Grandma, your best friends having fun. In addition to real moments, we also put an emphasis on details, which help tell the story. These include all the small touches throughout your day such as decorations, signs, or a flower girl's hair. Our relaxed portraits include formal family photos, as well as couple photos. We love to have a time for just the bride and groom. This is also a special time for you to have some quiet time on your wedding day!
style
While we prefer to use natural light, we are also experienced with flash. There are situations where flash is necessary to produce high quality images, rain or shine. Some instances would be for family photos in a very dark church, or for creative purposes to make an image "pop".
lighting
Shooting well in camera will always provide better images than photos that were shot otherwise. We edit our photos ourself to bring out color, contrast and to create beautiful black and whites. Our editing style can best be described as clean, beautiful and timeless. We avoid heavy photoshop techniques that come in and out of style. We want you to enjoy your images as much today as 50 years down the road. All images that we deliver are edited and ready to print, as you receive no "proofs".
editing
While not necessary, an engagement session is a great way to get to know you before the wedding. It is always an advantage for us to see how you interact with each other before your big day, and probably puts your nerves at ease too. It is also a great way for you to know what to expect as far as how we work. You are free to pick the location, and we will plan the timing so we have the best chance of capturing images before sunset with that warm, glowy feel. Images are typically returned within 2 weeks so you can start to share with family and friends asap!
Engagement sessions take place Monday through Thursday. A weekend date may be available for couples with special circumstances (for example military involvement).

Parent albums
Featuring premium leather, linen or image covers, our wedding albums feature thick, rigid pages. The entire page is made of premium photo paper, making each spread a large format print. Our 20 page album is perfect to showcase all the highlights of your day. Our 30 page album is the perfect way to tell your complete story. Albums can be ordered anytime, before or after the wedding. Prices below include shipping.

Parent albums have thinner pages with some flex in them. Parent albums do need to have the same exact page layout as the main wedding album in order to receive the discounted prices below. Parent albums are only available with leather or linen covers at this time.
*We are also able to design new, original designs for a parent album. The fee to create a new design is $200.00.

Over the years, we have photographed many military weddings and The United States Naval Academy is one of our favorite places! If you are an active duty member, we want to thank you for your time and sacrifices. We'll do our best to accommodate your busy schedule, and throw in some fun perks along the way! We are also available for homecomings and we do these either for free or low-cost depending on our availability and location.
Am I able to book if I am unsure of how many hours I need?
Yes, you are welcome to book the Starter Collection and upgrade later as you see fit. Many couples do this as they are early on in the planning process.
How many images do you typically deliver?
It's hard to give a number, since all weddings are unique and the number of people involved varies. The number of hours is another variable as well. On average, we would say to expect 1000 images.
How long does it take till we recieve our images?
It is our goal to deliver your images as soon as we can, while still providing the highest level of editing possible. We remember the suspense after our wedding, and we couldn't wait! We always provide a few sneak peak images either the night of your wedding or the next day. Delivery of your entire collection of digital images is generally between 2 weeks and 1 month.
Do you have backup equipment?
We are always prepared with back-up equipment in case something is dropped or has a problem. While it's not the camera that "makes" a vision come true, we are also prepared with all professional grade Canon cameras and many L series lenses.
Is travel additional?
We charge a modest fee to cover travel over an hour from our home in Union Bridge, MD. Please email us and we can provide a quote.
Are we free to print with our digital images?
Absolutely! We want you to enjoy your images any way you like. We do provide all the use-able images from the day, and you do gain printing rights in all our collections.
How does the booking process work?
We ask for a deposit of $900 and a signed contract to lock in your date. Final payment is due a month before your wedding. Unfortunately it becomes too time consuming and tricky to watch dates without deposits and we also wish to give everyone an equal chance at a popular date.
Do you offer prints??
Our online galleries offer archival prints which are currently available in the most common sizes. Other fine art products are available such as metallic prints and canvases. Please inquire for any specifics.
